The Backstory

Once upon a time, there was a young boy with many hopes and dreams. One day, he would become a veterinarian, helping animals live a healthy, happy life. He would also be rich, never having to worry about money or material belongings.

Over the course of several years; however, these dreams went to the wayside - instead of becoming a veterinarian and helping animals, the boy got into computers and technology. First, he focused on building and repairing them, and eventually he transitioned to commanding them through the use of arcane languages.

There were (and still are) periods where the young man didn't (doesn't) get along with technology very well. In fact, one might even say they were adversarial. During these times, other outlets were explored such as combat, self-defense, and agriculture.

Unfortunately, between the man's poor business skills and the gravitational pull of technology, these ill-fated endeavors have been doomed to failure. Technology's ever-present grasp continues to linger, becoming stronger with each passing day.

Not only does this pull become stronger, it becomes more insidious. Where once there was mystique, adventure, and excitement, now grows oppression, censorship, and surveillance.

A new chapter is about to unfold, and there is a fork in the road. Where does each path lead, and which one will be chosen?
